If you are suffering from muscle pain, spasms, or cramps, massage therapy may be the perfect complement to your physical rehabilitation or chiropractic treatments. The massage therapists at Cobb Pain & Rehab in Marietta are experienced with a number of massage techniques, and will work hand in hand with your chiropractor to treat your pain and facilitate recovery.
For massage therapy, the therapist will use smooth strokes–applying light to moderate pressure–and other actions on the superficial muscle layers. These movements improve circulation by promoting oxygen and nutrient movement into the body tissues, increasing your range of motion, relieving pain and tension, and clearing toxins such as lactic acid from the muscles. There are many different types of massages therapy, which use different motions and degrees of pressure.
To begin massage therapy, a member of our staff will ask about your medical history and symptoms. If you are also receiving chiropractic care or physiotherapy, we may also run diagnostic tests to diagnose your condition and develop a customized treatment plan. Massage sessions last anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes. Your therapist may recommend that you come in for a certain number of treatments, in order to achieve the best possible results.
