The term “sciatica” is used to describe a set of painful symptoms that may occur when the sciatic nerve is inflamed or irritated. Treating this condition may be complicated, as there are many causes of sciatica pain. At Cobb Pain & Rehab, our staff of chiropractors have experience with sciatica pain treatment, and can work with you to relieve your pain and get back to normal.
Sciatica typically affects the back, buttocks, and leg on one side of the body. In some cases, the pain may even extend down to the toes. There are many conditions that can result in sciatic pain, including spinal stenosis, disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, or auto accidents.
To determine the cause of your sciatica pain, our chiropractor will perform a physical exam and run diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, CT scans, or an MRI. Next, he or she can recommend the right type of treatment, which may include cold therapy, spinal adjustments, or ultrasound.
